Loghi Farm Rosso di Montalcino 2018

The Sangiovese grapes used in the 2018 Rosso di Montalcino are softer, brighter, and fresher than those used for the Brunello di Montalcino, but are equal in quality and flavor. The hand-harvested grapes are naturally fermented in stainless steel to get as much aroma and character from the grape skins as possible. The result is a full-bodied, easy drinking red with notes of soft, ripe cherries, freshly tilled soil, fresh herbs, cocoa powder and baking spices. The finish is long and complex, with balanced acidity and tannins. This wine is incredibly food friendly and can be paired with anything from vegetarian fare to spicy food.

Loghi Farm

Azienda Loghi is a small family farm located in Siena, Tuscany, situated within the up-and-coming Orcia Valley D.O.C., near Crete Senesi, which is famous for their white truffles. The farm stretches across 54 hectares and is mostly covered in forest. Third-generation winemaker Valentino Berni has inherited his family’s passion for making wines using sustainable practices. Valentino practices natural farming, with minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar. Wines are naturally fermented, aged in barrique made from Slavonic oak, using as little added sulfites as legally allowed in order to showcase the grapes. The wines are fresh and approachable, with great structure and class.
