Originally a limited release for their 200th anniversary, the Laphroaig 16 year is now an occasional a small batch release. With a little more age on this whisky, it's amber in color, with intense aromas of grilled apple, vanilla, pear, peat, and a hint of herbs. The palate is quite smoky, with notes of graham cracker, black pepper, toasted vanilla, and slightly briny. The finish is long with a great, full, warmth.
