Description

Domaine Coillot is an unfussy, old-school Burgundy domaine, in the best way. Established in the village of Marsannay in the 1960s by the father of current owner Christophe Coillot, the estate practices sustainable farming and does not use insecticides, pesticides, or herbicides. Christophe’s philosophy is to make terroir-driven wines as naturally as possible, with the least amount of intervention in the vineyard. Harvest is done by hand, and there is no addition of yeasts, enzymes, or any chaptalization during vinification. This lushly aromatic Pinot Noir is a great example of their work. With notes of cherry, blackcurrant, and a hit of spice, the wine is full and rich on the approach, with supple, sublime tannins and a long, velvety finish that leaves you wanting more with every sip.

Domaine Coillot is an unfussy, old school Burgundy domaine, in the best way. Established in the village of Marsannay in the 1960s by the father of current owner Christophe Coillot, the estate is spread out over 12 appellations throughout Burgundy. Each vineyard is focused, with vines from 20-65 years of age, with yields that never exceed 40 hectoliters per hectare to avoid stressing the land. Christophe’s philosophy is to make terroir-driven wines as naturally as possible, with the least amount of intervention in the vineyard. The estate practices sustainable farming and does not use insecticides, pesticides, or herbicides.
