Description
This blend from the Southern Rhone of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah highlights plump, almost creamy, black-cherry and preserved strawberry flavors against a filigree of graphite and basalt. Matured in oak for 14 months, the concentrated, mouth filling sip is framed by soft, soothing tannins and a peppery dash of spice on the finish. It's delicious young but should improve through 2028 and likely hold further still.

Domaine du Grapillon D'Or

Domaine du Grapillon d’or was built in 1806, although the Chauvet family has been present in Gigondas, in the heart of Provence since 1630. From that date on, numerous developments were carried out by successive generations. Since 1970, the estate has been successfully managed Bernard Chauvet (8th generation) and his daughter, Celine, decided to join him, about 30 years ago, in order to take charge of the winemaking and management of the estate. All of their wines are vegan and come from a selection of small plots which give rise to wines of great concentration and suitable for aging.
