Brilliant in the glass, the wine is dark, ruby-purple and as intense to the eye as it is to the nose. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, mocha and mint bubble forward from the glass and excite the palate. The wine is sculpted and velvety, a surprising contrast to its racy freshness, especially in a vintage marked by climactic contrasts and tannic, almost astringent wines throughout the region. Decant and serve with a beautiful steak, lamb chop, or osso bucco, or save for up to 9 years.

Château Malartic-Lagravière

Located at the gates of Bordeaux, Château Malartic Lagravière, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, is located on the oldest wine-growing region of Bordeaux, reputed to be the most beautiful "croup" of gravel, formed millions of years ago by alluvium. The vineyard extends over 73 hectares of vines – including 7 hectares for the white – made up of the following grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot Sauvignon Blanc, and Sémillon.
