Located roughly halfway between Lyon and Geneva, Bugey is known for its "patchwork of terroirs." There’s the white marl clay soil of the Montagnieu wine area, the silica and limestone soil of the moraine hillside slopes, and the clay and limestone mountain screes. The land is home to this delicate and linear Aligote, organically farmed and bottled with no added sulphur. Beautifully mineral and almost filigreed in texture, the wine is full of apple blossoms and lemon, white peach, sweet herbs, and a touch of smoke. Perfect as an aperitif, alongside seafood, fondue, or dandelion greens.
