The colorful label tells the tale of this organic white Burgundy from winemaking siblings Richard and Stephane Martin. Hailing from a patchwork of nearly three dozen limestone-clay parcels scattered across 17 hectares, this delicate Chardonnay offers elegant minerality and white flowers on the nose, and refreshing orchard fruit on the palate. The vines are an average of 50 years old, adding to the flavor and complexity of the finished wine. Finishing long and crisp, this wine will be perfect with a shellfish starter, fish, poultry, or as an accompaniment to goat cheese.

Domaine de la Croix Senaillet

The Mâconnais is a region of Burgundy crossed by history — from its days as a Gallic province noted in the Roman era to the French Revolution — and winemaking. Into this tradition fall the family of Richard and Stephane Martin. Their parents and grandparents have tended vines and livestock in Davayé, just a few kilometers north of Beaujolais, for so many decades that it seemed inevitable that the family would begin producing and selling their own wines. Founded in 1990, and managed by Richard with his brother, Stephane, the estate today stretches across nearly 30 hectares and two domaines, La Croix Senaillet and Le Mont Epin, and produces beautifully expressive organic wines designed to appeal to every palate and every budget.
