Sloe fruits are a plum-like fruit found on blackthorn bushes, which can be found in Europe, Western Asia, and Northwest Africa. Blackthorns are one of the most common shrubs in England, which creates a lot of foraging potential for their fruit in the English countryside. For three centuries, sloes have been steeped in gin and sugar to make a liqueur known as ‘Sloe Gin’.
