Yves Cuilleron

Rose de Saignée "Sybel" VDF 2021

Yves Cuilleron is an icon of the Northern Rhone and a master of its famed varieties. This rosé, a saignée from various cuveés of Syrah planted to granitic soils, displays his deft touch; the wine is easy-drinking yet deeply expressive of the terroir, and richly textured with bright, refreshing acidity. A perfect match for grilled meats and Mediterranean salads, “Sybel” offers incredible value for the quality.

Yves Cuilleron

The Cuilleron estate, located in Verlieu, a hamlet of Chavanay just south of Condrieu, is one of the benchmark producers of the Rhone. Yves Cuilleron makes an assortment of wines from multiple appellations, including Condrieu, Saint Péray, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint Joseph, Cote Rotie, and Vin de Pays from the Collines Rhodaniennes. Cuilleron has been described by the wine press as "the leader of Condrieu's new generation of winemakers” and his wines straddle the divide between traditionalists and the new-wave, in the sense that they retain their sense of place, but express their sites in an approachable, immediate way, with purity, precision, grace, and joy.
